What are the recommended sample preservation methods if the test is
not taken place shortly?
Fresh caught
or dead shrimp whose body hasn’t turned into red color can both being tested
immediately. If tests can’t perform in a short period of time, shrimp samples
can be frozen or preserved in 95% ethanol for later i-screen diagnosis.
What kind of shrimp samples can be tested by i-screen? Can it be done if it is not a shrimp sample?
Normal
seawater cultured shrimp can all be tested with i-screen, eg. P. vannamej, P. monodon, P. japonica…etc. Apart from the shrimp, other live feed such as
oyster, artemia, and environmental factor eg. soil, crab can also be the
samples. Recommendation size for above
sample is as the same as a grain of rice or green bean.
